The radiations, Alpha, Beta, Gamma rays and neutrons are inherent in the very nature of atomic energy and are nicknamed by the scientist as bone seekers. These radiations entering into the blood-stream attack the bone-marrow is to generate blood. The connection between blood and heart is well-known. The radiations render the bone-marrow incapable of generating blood, while in the existing supply of blood they destroy both the red and white corpuscles. The supply of blood to heart is thus stopped, and thus the heart dies of starvation and by agony.
All the blood forming organs are the next attractive target of these radiations. Now the relation between the blood forming organs and the blood, and further between the blood and the heart is well-known. The symptoms of radiation sickness are, Leukemia, a disease of blood Hemorrhages, that is blood leaking, also a disease of blood. Fever, also connected with blood Nausea, and vomiting also related with heart. Again the relation between the blood and heart is well-known. Multi-Cellular organism with more perfected heart and lungs and more elaborate circulatory and respiratory systems are all without exception more sensible to the effects of radiations than all the Uni-Cellular organisms that have less perfect heart and lungs and have less elaborated circulatory and respiratory systems. This also proves a decisive affinity of radiations for the heart.
The presence of oxygen enhances the action of radiations whereas its absence retards their action. The role of oxygen in aeration of blood and lungs and heart also is quite apparent. Muscles, nerves and brain are the organs least sensible to the influence of radiations, whereas, heart and all those organs that are connected with heart are most sensible to the influence of radiations. It also proves a comparative affinity of radiations for heart. Who would need a Socrates to tell him of the fire of discontent which is raging in every heart today both in the east and the west? Nor is it very difficult for anyone to understand that the causes of this heart-burning, discontent and frustration in our age are exactly those that are responsible for the emergence of atomic bomb, namely complete materialistic engrossment in the world, accumulation of wealth in an age of check-books, computations and the science of statistics, wealth worship and indeed slander and back-biting, individual, national, international and universal. This heart burning shall remain ever on increase in proportion to the increase of wealth and the progress of material development. The Quran says “it is a fire closed in on them (104-Alhomaza) please bring your imagination into play and enact, the scene of an atomic explosion of say a twenty megaton bomb. There is a column ten miles high, three miles across like the central pole of a tent. This column is topped by a mushroom shaped lid a hundred miles across. Around this central column imagine a hollow, transparent cylinder eight miles in diameter, ten miles high touching the lower edge of the hundred mile’s mushroom lid. This imaginary eighty miles enclosure actually is the effective range of such a bomb.
The interior of this forty mile cylinder comprises heat-flash, blast waves interwoven with radiation (invisible) rays, interspersed with wide-spread, colossal fires and flying incandescent debris amidst a storm of shattering buildings, toppling spires, enveloped in whirling clouds of Ash-ridden smoke and choking fumes and indeed unwholesome odour of burning bodies of men, women, children and beasts in an atmosphere of wails unheard, groans uncared, cries un responded. All this within an enclosure eighty miles around and ten miles high. This is how this fire of Hotama is a fire closed in on them. But our picture of this enclosure is not yet completed. There is yet another enclosure upper head of the column, shoots outwards from the mushroom lid through the higher regions into the stratosphere another ten miles to assume the total height of twenty miles from the ground surface. There the head of the column spreads itself into a layer of radio-active fallout, to be driven by the prevailing stream of wind around the earth like satellites for about ten years, and gradually settling out on the surface of earth, to contaminate vegetables, plants and sources of water, and thus due to the spread of radio-activity amongst human beings, turning them into cancer-ridden and leprous chimeras and monster begetting monsters, till the whole human race is wiped out from the face of earth. And so this is how the fire of Hotama is a fire closed in on them.
The action of the atomic explosion starts with the appearances of heat-flash within a fraction of a second on detonation, and after passing through the subsequent phases of blast and ionizing radiations, completes its whole process within ten seconds. Who could therefore succeed in getting out of the effective range of the explosion that might be as far as eighty miles and escape the effects of the atomic lightening? Again judging from the large number of those who have survived the effects of radiation and blast in a nuclear attack, but have affected by radio-active fallout.
